About

Critically acclaimed for his work on the Broadway smash-hit Hamilton, Joules’ rich career experience is compelling.

Early Career

After graduating with honors from Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge, England, he built a global career as a musician, educator, and entrepreneur, performing to millions while founding companies and mentoring creative talent across the world.

In music, Joules contributed to more than twenty international Broadway productions - including seven in London’s West End - as the Music Director or Drummer. He toured extensively throughout Europe, Asia, and Scandinavia, also composing and arranging on numerous TV and album projects while acting as Music Supervisor for the X-Factor/Pop Idol Winners Tour in Greece.

In business, he founded JPR Productions Ltd, producing large-scale theatrical concert tours across Europe, and later co-founded the boutique talent agency Boland & Reeve Ltd in London. As a mentor and educator, he helped thousands of students develop robust performance psychology, confidence, and musicianship in many leading performing arts colleges.

He moved from England to NYC in 2012.

Mid Career

Five years later, Joules became the Music Director of Hamilton, leading the first presentations of the show at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. and the Centro de Bellas Artes Luis A. Ferré in Puerto Rico starring Lin-Manuel Miranda. He earned the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award for his work at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood, before touring the U.S. with the 1st National Tour.

While conducting Hamilton in San Fransisco, Julian suffered a stress-related heart attack. Two years later, a repetitive strain injury forced his retirement from the show, and from performing altogether. Both events inspired significant research into how success can be achieved in healthier ways, and prompted a move into keynote speaking, consulting, and executive coaching.

He became a trusted voice on perfectionism, delivering a TEDx Talk in addition to writing a children's book and articles for The Hill, Fast Company, and CEO World Magazine. Interviews on ABC, NBC, and CBS followed, where he leveraged the opportunity to build authority in burnout, leadership development, and organizational well-being. He served on HR.com's Advisory Board for Employee Retention while delivering keynotes and workshops for GE Aerospace, Teleflora, Learn4Life, MPI, PHIRA, and many others.

Now

Joules now enjoys two parallel and rewarding career paths, serving the business community with thought leadership on burnout through keynotes and consultancy, while helping creative professionals navigate career change and identity work through 1-1 coaching. He is passionate about translating his career and life experience into tangible strategies that shape successful outcomes and sustainable careers.

Joules lives with his wife, Lisa, and dutch shepherd, Mila, in Los Angeles.
